The FirstMerit Towpath Century Ride offers participants a unique experience to see the entire length of the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area, while raising money to benefit the continued development of the Towpath Trail. Bicyclists travel 101-miles in either one or two days in a fully supported ride. The first Towpath Century Ride, held in 2009, supported only 17 riders who raised $22,000 for the Towpath Trail. Growing quickly over the past seven years, 117 riders participated in 2015, raising more than $143,000 for the cause.

You say you’re a cyclist who prefers getting off the highway and into the peace and quiet of a tree-lined, riverside rail trail? Then this fully supported and catered weeklong tour may just be your ticket to ride.
First off, we’ll traverse the Little Miami Scenic Trail, considered the crown jewel of Buckeye State rail trails. The seventy-five mile paved path links the eastern edge of Cincinnati with Springfield, situated a dozen towns and four counties to the north. Stately communities, picturesque state parks, a variety of wildlife habitats, and bridges, both old and new, are ours to behold as we roll along the gentle trail.
Additionally, we’ll take on the Ohio to Erie Trail, which, when completed, will link the major cities of Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland. The route takes in portions of Adventure Cycling’s Underground Railroad Bicycle Route, where we’ll visit Wilberforce, home to the oldest private African-American college in the U.S.
Trip Dates:
Jul 09, 2016 — Jul 15, 2016
Milford, OH
